Insulating cushion

The insulating cushion which is placed in the module intended for this purpose, consists of a tarlatan bag filled with hydrophilic cotton (inert material).
It allows the upper part of the hive to be insulated (excess heat or low temperature), and to slow the flow of air which crosses the hive and which will be extracted by the ventilation chamber in the roof.

Along with the mosquito net, it is an important element of the hive's thermoregulation system.
It should be tested on an empty hive with two supers, to ensure that it allows enough air to pass through. An insulating pad that is too thin will not be effective enough in its insulation function, but a pad that is too thick or too dense will be an obstacle to good air circulation.
