Floor

The external dimensions are slightly smaller than the dimensions of the risers. This is to facilitate the flow of runoff water.

It is equipped with four tubular feet to promote air circulation under the hive.

Unlike most hives, the flight board is lowered to prevent wind-blown water from entering the floor.

The flight hole is smaller to allow the guard to be more effective.

The floor is provided with a winter door which is intended to slow down the arrival of cold air during the bad season and which also allows the guard to be more effective during pillaging by other colonies or external attacks (wasps or Asian hornets among others).
